A picture is worth a thousand words.

Your task is the same as we've done once before (with Jacob Riis pictures):
- Look through several pics to "get the feel" for them.
- Set up a chart like the one below. We'll analyze the photos from the general to the specific. A general idea is one that gives the "big picture," and that's great. But, supporting a general idea with specific evidence is awesome!
- Under "Photo," choose 9 more pictures. Decide on a name for the pic. Under "General," make a general statement that captures the overall idea of what you see. Under "Specific," cite specific evidence in the pic that led you to make the general statement. An example was done for #1.
- Write the "Specific" in complete sentences, the other columns don't need to be complete sentences.

Ex: World Exchange Bank (the 2nd pic) |
Ex: People were worried about the banks. |
Ex: The photo illustrates how people worried about the banks through three men standing outside a bank. They seem concerned--one man's pointing at something in the bank and another is scratching his chin like he's thinking. A police officer is standing guard watching the men as if he expects something to happen. There just seems to be tension in the air.
