House of Reps by political party graph

Page history last edited by roger_that 2 years ago

  • Use the stats at this link showing how many members of each party were in Congress to make a triple line graph.
  • We're graphing the House of Reps only (so skip over the Senate column).
  • Use one color for Republicans, one for Democrats, one for Others.
  • Graph the past 100 years.

After graphing, answer:

  1. Which party had the greatest advantage over the other? When was that?
  2. When do you think the most dramatic turn-around took place?
  3. Who's in power right now?
  4. What do you think will happen in the next election? In other words, will the party in power gain more power, lose power but stay in control, or will the minority party win and take over the House?
