2. Women's rights movement (pp. 926-930)
- Identify Betty Friedan, her book, and her ideas.
- Identify Phyllis Schlafly and her ideas.
- What did "Title IX" (Title 9) say?
- Identify what the case of Roe v. Wade did or said.
- Read about "Jane Roe's" roller-coaster life at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jane_Roe then explain how her opinion on the Roe v. Wade issue changed.
- What was "E.R.A." and was it successful?
3. Latino rights movement (pp. 932-937)
- Identify Cesar Chavez and his ideas
4. American Indians' movement (pp. 936-937)
- Identify "A.I.M." and what the stood for.
- How did AIM become famous/infamous?
- List their main goals.
5. The "Counterculture" (pp. 922-925)
- Although it may be hard to nail down, what did the hippies stand for or believe in?
- Identify the "Summer of Love" (use internet for this one: when?, where?, who?, etc.)
- What kinds of things took place at Woodstock?
- Give 3 examples of things impacted by the counterculture movement.
