Boston Massacre evaluation

Page history last edited by crump 1 year, 8 months ago

We're still unsure as to what happened at the Boston Massacre. We'll try to figure it out.

  1. Read the 2 accounts on pp.124-125.
  2. Make a Venn diagram to jot key points of agreement and disagreement.
  3. Evaluate each bit of evidence by ranking them from 1 to 10 (low to high) in terms of VALUE and RELIABILITY.
  4. Note: Value - If this fact were true, how important would it be? Or simply, how valuable would that fact be?
Reliability - How believable is this statement?)
  5. Write an explanation of what you think happened at the Boston Massacre and offer support for your opinion.

Example...

A statement about Americans using a machine gun, if true, would be very valuable to consider (a 10!). But, it's not very reliable (only a 1).
