Great Depression collaborative art assignment

Page history last edited by crump 3 months, 2 weeks ago

For this assignment, you are to work with your tablemates to collaboratively draw a picture. The picture should address the question: Since a picture is worth a thousand words, how would you show life during the Great Depression?

  1. You'll need to get a "game plan" first. Draw the background first, then come forward. Need ideas? go to http://kclibrary.lonestar.edu/decade30.html
  2. You should assign responsibilities such as, "Sue will draw a house, Bill will draw a farmer."
  3. The person with the birthday nearest to today is the "Starter." The starter will start the screen.
    1. Starter only (no one else!): go to: http://www.twiddla.com and then click  "Go"
    2. Everyone else: go to the web address that comes up on the Starter's screen.
    3. You'll be on the same page now. Whatever one person's draws, others will see.
  4. When you're almost done. Try to alter and refine things to make them better. Add a title and/or caption.
  5. Place each group member's name on the image.
  6. Capture your image using COMMAND+SHIFT+4 (it'll appear on your desktop). Place the image in my dropbox .
  7. When you're done, each person  should write a written response to these questions...
    1. What did your group choose to draw and how does that illustrate the Great Depression?
    2. Which part or parts did YOU focus on while drawing?
    3. How did your group go about drawing the picture? Did someone take the lead?
    4. What were the main challenges in doing this?
    5. If you were to do the assignment again, what would you do differently?
    6. What do you like or dislike about your final product?
    7. Do you have any other thoughts on this activity?
    8. Click this and answer the question: http://www.polleverywhere.com/multiple_choice_polls/MjA4NjM0NDUwMg/web
