For this assignment, you'll make 2 spreadsheets like in the picture below.
- Use Microsoft Excel (go to Applications, Microsoft Office, it's in there)
- For the white and gray boxes, you should just type in the info.
- For the yellow boxes, you should have a formula in them (don't just type in the numbers).
- To enter a formula, start with an "=" sign. Then enter symbols like +, _, *, or / (to add, subtract, multiply, or divide). Also, use parentheses when necessary.
- To make boxes look like money or %, go to Format, Cells, choose Number and then either Currency or Percentage.
- For the GDP spreadsheet, put the GDP formula in the yellow boxes. Remember C+I+G+(X-M)
- Country A: C=45, I=23, G=58, X=34, M=23
- Country B: C=123, I=76, G=127, X=89, M=112
- Country C: C=97, I=78, G=65, X=92, M=82
- For the stock spreadsheet...
- "Bought" is the price you bought it at.
- "Sold" is the price you sold it at.
- "Price Change" is the gain or loss per share (Sold minus Bought)
- "Gain/Loss" is the "Price Change" times number of shares
- % change = (New - Old) over Old DON'T FORGET THE PARENTHESES!
- Total Gain/Loss = add up each box in the gain/loss column
- Lastly, go to your stock game portfolio. Enter about 3 of your stocks' information. Check your spreadsheet as compared to your portfolio. The numbers should match up. Do they?
