Political Pamphlet
You're going to make a political campaign during the Progressive Era (1912 is a good year to focus on). Specifically, your task is to make a political pamphlet that could be handed out to voters. You can work with a partner on this if you wish.
- Make up a fictitious (make-believe) candidate for president. Find an old picture for your person to put on the front of the pamphlet if you wish.
- Your pamphlet should outline at least 3 major issues for that time period. You'll need to do some research to find out the 1912 issues (textbook starting with p. 544). Choose what you think are the top 3 issues.
- For each issue, state the problem and then say what your party/candidate would do to fix the problem.
- Be sure your issues address a mix of domestic (U.S.) AND foreign policy issues.
Options to make your brochure...
- You can use the program "Pages." Click the "brochure" template. "Pages" is located in Hard Drive-->Applications-->iWork-->Pages
- Microsoft Word has a "Brochure" template that might be useful. Go to "File", "Project Gallery", then "Brochure."
- Comic Life could be used. Don't make any more than 2 pages (a front and a back).
- Remember, you need to balance between attractiveness and information.
